not trying to discourage you from your goal here, but i don't think winning this game will earn you much favor from whatever force brought us here

You are not listening. It is not SOLELY the win, it is also the entertainment factor AND how I would use the prize.

Something here is drawing us in and keeping us to the estate grounds. It keeps even me, a god, imprisoned.

Others have mentioned the push and pull of order (the Balfours and their rules/schedules) and chaos (the house moves rooms around and has these silly events), which means there is some power. It feeds into our worst selves.

I intend to seize whatever is at the core. I do not care if you believe in any of this.

but even if you can locate it at its source, what makes you so confident that you can withstand its power, no less control it? this isn't a feat that can be accomplished on your own

I have no other choice. But if I allow myself to doubt, or slow in the face of many unknowns, I will never accomplish anything.

Whether possible to do or not, I would never ignore an opportunity. I am the god of war, after all. Victory is mine if I obtain the prize. I simply wanted the others to reap the spoils, too. Some of them have worked very hard.
