POSITIVE ▪ LOYAL — Pierce is a deeply flawed character. If he had any redeeming quality, it would be his loyalty to the people who he cares about. He has a large network of acquaintances and associates, but he only has six people who he considers important. They're his grandparents, his mother and his three best friends. No one else matters to him. He would do anything for them and he has done unspeakable things for them. His relationship with his family is incredibly complex, but he is incapable of ever betraying or abandoning them. He may not be the most worthwhile person to befriend, yet he will do everything in his power to protect and support those who've managed to break through the walls he's built around himself. They are the only ones who are worthy of his respect, attention, affection and care. His loyalty to them is steadfast and unshakeable.

NEGATIVE ▪ SELFISH — At his core, Pierce is an extremely selfish person. He will always prioritize his own wants and needs above others, even the ones he claims to care about deeply. Every action he takes and every decision he makes is self-serving whether he is conscientious of it or not. He has a tendency to make everything about himself. It is never about the other person, even if it outwardly seems to be. Doesn't matter if it's admitting his guilt or expressing his concern, Pierce's sincerity will never make it past a certain range. It has a cap. He cares for his friends as much as it will benefit him and he caters to his family's expectations as far as it will lead him to where he wants to go. He charms, manipulates, deceives and uses the people around him for his own gains. His selfishness is subtle and inconspicuous, yet it can become alarmingly evident once closely examined.

NEGATIVE ▪ DESTRUCTIVE — Being monitored and controlled throughout his life has resulted in a self-destructive behavior that continues to worsen with each passing year. Pierce has a strong propensity for self-harm and a volatility that only serves to bolster it. He needs little to no reason to initiate fights and endanger himself. Born with an inability to feel pain, he doesn't know when to stop and he doesn't care to stop, thriving off of risks and violence. He doesn't give any thought to what chaos his actions can bring as long as he sates his own need to hurt and, more importantly, to get hurt. Growing up surrounded by enemies, he has dived into the realm of dark magic to cement his position and meet his goals as the new Strickland head. He is vicious, brutal and cutthroat, showing no mercy to those who get in his way or harm the ones he cares for.

NEGATIVE ▪ ARROGANT — Pierce comes from old money and prestige. He has never known a life without wealth, power and reputation. He was raised to be the next head of the Stricklands. His status brought with it both a sense of pride and superiority. He may have hated the rigidity of his life, but he still had the world at his fingertips. There exists nothing he cannot obtain and no connection he cannot form through the sheer influence of his family name or through his own capabilities. Intelligent, charming and sharp, he has unwavering confidence in who he is. He genuinely believes that he is better than most people and he isn't afraid to express it. In fact, he has a very condescending attitude and he treats people the way he sees fit. Sometimes he's nice; most of the time he's just an absolute dick. He is not the one who covets but the one to be coveted.

Powers and Abilities:

Pierce is a witch with an affinity for unnatural magic. He can manifest and manipulate the unnatural and alive. Even though the unnatural plane isn't predisposed to the evil and corrupted, he started to skew towards the dark arts after he graduated from Barrett-Crowley to contend with the internal struggle for power in his family. His magic has always been destructive and unstable in nature due to his volatile personality, however; so his introduction to a more twisted form of magic has only exacerbated it further. With an impeccable memory and a thirst for knowledge, he is well-versed in a wide range of spells and rituals. His obsession with dark magic has led him to experiment and create new spells as well as push the boundaries of what's acceptable.

Whereas natural magic comes from Mother Nature, Pierce acquires unnatural magic from the void (aka nothingness or the place where Mother Nature cannot reach). He can draw and manipulate the energies there to cast spells and rituals as well as summon and control unnatural beings such as nonsentient creatures created from his void magic and/or any nonhuman monsters. In Duplicity, he will not be able to manifest any creature larger than an average car. To paint a better picture, Pierce can use unnatural magic to perform common witchy spells, but he cannot use any magic connected to the five elements. He has no access to fire, water, earth, air and metal. Since his magic is also corrosive in nature, he is unable to heal himself or others. Even though it seems similar to dark magic, it is much more stable and clean. It neither corrupts nor requires blood sacrifice.

To a lesser degree, Pierce has an affinity for necromantic magic as well. He is able to affect the spiritual and all that have died and/or been corrupted. With the recent death of his best friend, he now has a keen interest in not only mastering it but possibly taking a step towards a more forbidden and ill-advised path.

Aside from his witchy woo powers, Pierce is an exceptionally skilled fighter. He has spent most of his life getting into endless brawls. The guy absolutely loves it. He is also a fitness buff and a thrill seeker who's way too invested in exercising, bodybuilding and testing out dangerous stunts. He's agile and strong with quick reflexes and a no holds barred attitude. It's all adrenaline and animalistic instincts, but it's effective and terrifying.

On a lighter (and less physical) note, Pierce is a talented artist and pianist. He enjoys music and the arts, and they're hobbies that he indulges in when he isn't busy making a complete and utter wreck of himself.
